Professional development is ongoing and numerous for all Malakoff ISD staff, in order to best meet the needs of our students.
I began my teaching career at Malakoff ISD in 2006, after spending my first three years at RC Fisher in Athens. I have worked within special education for the last 14 years, teaching resource math and inclusion math. I am extremely excited to be teaching sixth grade math, during the 2016/2017 school year.
I have been married to my wonderful husband, Shawn Leis, for 20 years. We have two amazing children, Kinsey Leis and Karger (Bear) Leis, who both attend Malakoff ISD. The opportunities they have had available to them keep me thankful daily that I chose to start Kinsey at Malakoff Elementary in Kindergarten.
My daughter is involved in band, cheer, debate, student council and theatre. My son plays baseball throughout the year. All of my free time consists of enjoying watching them participate in these activities they enjoy so dearly. I wouldn’t want to do anything else with my free time, than spending it watching my kids.
