All Malakoff ISD employees attend many hours of professional development each year in order to ensure all of our student’s needs are met.
My career at Malakoff ISD begain in 1996 as a teacher’s aide in the content mastery room. I went on to get my teacher certification in 1998 in Business Administration. I’ve taught grades 6-12 over the past 21 years. However, my main focus has been on the middle school. I currently teach college and career prep to 8th grade, career investigations to 7th grade, and APBL for 6th grade.
I also have to privledge of being the MMS cheer coach to a wonderful group of young ladies. I’ve been in this position for a total of thirteen years.
I started my career path out of college by moving from Pennsylvania to Dallas, Texas where I begain working at Gulf Tape and Label as a customer service representative in 1982. In 1991 I moved up into the sales department and continued in that position for a year and a half. I then moved on to Brookhollow Sir Speedy as the General Manager.
When I left that position, I consentrated on my family for a few years before returning to the work force as a teacher’s aide for Malakoff ISD. After being an aide for two years, I was given the opportunity to become a full time teacher for Malakoff Middle School. I jumped on that opportunity and have never regretted it for a miunte. I love this age group of students. There isn’t a day that goes by where something someone does doesn’t amaze me one way or another. I look forward to teaching your child this year.
I was married to my wonderful husband, Pablo Tello in 1983. We have four children and thirteen grandchildren. We live in the Tool area. We enjoy traveling, camping, enjoying life and spending time with eachother and our family. With all of our children grown and out of the house we now concentrate taking care of our 2 dogs, Tyler (a Weimeriner), Jack (a 215 lb English Mastiff) and Tater Tot, our cat.
My favorite way to spend the afternoon is curled up with a good book.
